The quality of her work was good, however the financial treatment of the patients are very poor. I visited Dr Ghiasi per my mom's recommendation. She is on Medicare and does not check details of the billing as long as she does not have to pay. I on the other hand do read the details because I am not on Medicare and am insured through my work. I normally end up paying about $400 - 500 including frames for my glasses every year. This year I made the mistake of taking my mother's recommendation. I visited Dr Ghiasi in November because of headaches, she said it is best to wait until January to get glasses since the lenses are not changed much but this way you get coverage for new glasses next year. I asked if I had to pay her more for another visit and she said "NO" she will only double check the prescription and if the same as November then we will just get the lenses ordered. Great recommendation! In March I visited her again to get my glasses. Ended up paying again for the visit, ($25.00 reg co pay & $40.00 specialist's co pay - twice) then I paid over $500.00 for my glasses and then received another billing from her for about $120.00 for additional charges on some adjustments she has done each time I visited. Charging my insurance close to $700.00 and additional charges of $120.00 they are expecting from me. I thought I should ask before judging, maybe there was a mistake. After all I had to force the Roxanna to charge my card a co pay when she forgot to charge my card and insisted that I did not have to pay. Told her I do not want to receive a bill later, stating that I did not pay my co pay. She was not happy but charged the card per my request. So, I talked to her office twice and the gentleman who assists her, told me he will find out what these charges are and why twice (once in November and once on my 2nd visit to get my lenses.) and will get back to me. The only thing I received was an email with copy of the bill, they just circled the charges and sent it to me. Then I replied to email and asked for explanation again and to date (since March 2013 have not received a reply back only another billing that shows they added another $30.00 to the invoice for some reason. So, be aware and get everything in writing from her before accepting the verbal promise of "NO you will not be charged double." I am paying the bill but will not be going back.

The staff and doctors are friendly and competent. The new office space has bright lighting, which is good for low-vision patients, although a bit bright for light-sensitive patients like me.

Always well-organized, great staff, has late hours (our appt was at 5:30) and amazingly smart. Did fabulous cataract surgeries on both eyes last year, now my husband's turn! Highly recommend.

As part of a large HMO I was nervous about having eye surgery. I decided to find a surgeon who was well trained, experienced, with excellent reviews and to pay for it myself. I chose Dr Daniel Kline to remove a pterygium (a growth) from my eye. I could not be more pleased. His surgery center was in a beautiful location in Newport with a friendly and professional staff. The surgery result is flawless and Dr Kline was very kind, thorough and professional. I would highly recommend Dr. Kline to my family or anyone who is need of eye care.

Over the last 17 years I have seen Dr. Barbara Shang for myself, for my son (who started wearing glasses very early), and at some point my wife also needed Dr. Shang's outstanding expertise and care. In brief, all my family members have been seen by Dr. Shang. I started having some challenges with astigmatism back in 2008, and since I write and read a lot (interacting with the computer screen included), I need accuracy in measuring prescriptions for my glasses. Dr.Shang helped me so much over the last 17 years that I could with my whole heart say her work contributed much to my professional and personal success, as well as to the health of all my family members. I respect a lot Dr. Shang's professional expertise and her superb care for details. I strongly recommend her work to anyone who looks for an outstanding specialist.

Dr. Barbara Shang is the best doctor that I have ever seen!!! A friend recommended that I see her for a second opinion for my condition and I am so happy that I took her advice. My original doctor told me that I had a minor cyst and that nothing needed to be done. However, it turned out that my condition was more serious than what the original doctor stated. Dr. Shang took the time to thoughtfully explain what was happening unlike any other doctors that I had encountered before. She was very caring, gentle, and patient every step of the way with all of my questions and concerns. After, I was referred to a surgeon and Dr. Shang followed up with the the surgeon to review the biopsy. Even after the surgery, she called me every step of the way to explain what was going on and she answered all of the questions that I had. I never received this kind of attentive care from any of the doctors that I had in the past. She will be our family doctor for all the members of my family going forward.

As another physician, I was referred to Dr. Shang by other physicians. I was truly puzzled when I pulled up her website for locations and found one website that seemed false. It had very negative comments and it seemed very vindictive. After contacting other physicians, I found it was a fraudulent website created by a patient. I reviewed Dr. Shang's credentials carefully and decided to go see her based on referrals from my colleagues. I have to admit I was a little nervous having read the fake website but Dr. Shang is the epitome of a caring and knowledgeable physician. She spent so much time with me on a detailed exam and explained my options for my reading issues. She is thorough and kind and I could tell kept up with current medical literature. Now I know why so many other physicians recommend her. I would advise any future patients to read about her on her website and to disregard the one created by someone who for what unknown reason dislikes her. I truly cannot imagine why anyone would dislike her from my interactions with her. I feel confident to recommend her to my patients and my family.

A true doctor/optometrist with a heart of solid gold. I was on my bicycle heading to work when I lost one of my contact lenses. Stopped at Dr. Hollands office and was welcomed warmly and most graciously. Dr. Holland provided me with a contact lens to help me ride safely and I sensed instantly the true qualities of what I consider a real Doctor (a rarity these days, unfortunately) worthy of that title - every letter of it. Thank you Dr. Holland. It was an absolute blessing I happened upon your practice this afternoon.

First time ever to this LensCrafters. Wow, was I impressed. Beautiful building, setup and professional employees. Especially from Lesley. She was very aware of her surroundings and spotted me as soon as I walked in. Lesley was very detailed and knowledgeable to the products and style that best fits my face and my look. Also wanted to say thank you to the team for helping me as they were very busy with other people but found a way to get me in and out as soon as possible. Overall great energy and supportive team. I will definitely return for all my eye care needs.
