I was hesitant on taking my father here for his eye appointment based on some of these reviews. I found the office very busy but efficient. The girls at the desk were all so helpful, patient and polite. I was impressed. I see some reviews about not receiving phone calls back. It's not that difficult to call again. Doctor offices can get very busy. Again, no issues with the office or the desk staff. Everyone was working hard and quickly.

IF at all possible try to avoid using Acuity. They do provide quick service in getting you a doctor’s visit. But after that things fall apart. I had asked for a refill on one of my drops. The pharmacy had already sent them a message to approve a refill. The pharmacist asked that I should also call them because she stated Acuity is not the best at responding quickly. So I called Acuity enquired about the request the pharmacy had made. When they started to when and about what drops, I knew things had fallen through the cracks. So I stated that I needed a refill for just one month. That would cover me for during my overseas trip. They said it had to be approved by the doctor. Ok, but the doctor was expected in for the day. I explained that I would be leaving that Sunday. Of the doctor could respond then what?? What’s another alternative, especially since it Friday morning . She said to give her the day to get things resolved. The results No refill nor any further communication. Their inefficiency speak volumes about how they treat their clients. So good luck using them.

Please avoid if possible. I haven't been able to get them to write a prior authorization. I've called many times and have visited the front desk to speak with the manager. The staff and doctors do not return calls. They scheduled me with a different doctor without telling me first and one doctor prescribed a different medication from the one I was taking without telling me. The Acuity tech blamed the pharmacy for this. The pharmacy had done exactly as the doctor prescribed. The pharmacy also continues to ask for a prior authorization for the correct medication, but with no answer from Acuity. Too much hassle, poor service, difficult to get good treatment. I am finding a different ophthalmologist.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with choosing your frames taking that extra mile to make you feel comfortable and satisfied. The Doctor was very attentive and made you feel at ease as he checked your eyes as he explained what he doing during testing. Highly recommend them for your eye care.

I have been coming here with Dr. Smit Patel for years. Even when they moved office, I followed. There are many optometry offices near where I live but I will make the drive just to come to Santee Family Optometry. They treat you like family. There’s a genuine care. Dr. Patel cares and remembers every details regarding his patients. Everyone there is very professional. I can’t recommend them more!!!

Just got back from my second appointment here, and everyone here is amazing. Dr. Gendelman is very kind, patient, and thorough. It can be easy to feel rushed through an eye doctor visit, but all of the staff here makes sure that you're individually cared for. Highly recommend!

Doctors are over worked and don’t have time to take with patients. They passed me off from one to the other when procedures were not successful. Over a year now working to fix a torn retina.
They accuse me of not being compliant , yet they miss appointments and currently need a scrip that the pharmacy can’t fill. Over a week now the doctor won’t r respond to them. Go anywhere else but here. Go to Tijuana even your be better off. For real

Horrible customer service, almost impossible to reach anyone. Why is the answering service is in Los Angeles County? Trying to get prescriptions takes days, leaving messages that don't get return calls is extremely unprofessional. Go here if you want to be frustrated out of your mind and be played with and made feel unimportant. Dr. Hsu is the only reason we don't cancel doing business with these people. He should really consider going on his own.

Apparently the INCOMPETENCE IN THIS OFFICE extends beyond late-arriving medical assistants! It also extends to the OFFICE MANAGER who makes a referral to a “Corona Specialist” that is then REJECTED BY THAT MD’s OFFICE! Attempting to reach the Office manager in THIS office that made the faulty referal is a waste of time since: a.) she does NOT show up on Monday AM’s, and b.) you CANNOT LEAVE A MESSAGE AT THE OFFICE NUMBER-you get hung up on! DO NOT GO TO THIS “EYE CARE” OFFICE! They “Eye Care” is questionable” as well! My eyes are NOW WORSE THEN WHEN I CAME IN TO IT OVER A MONTH AGO!

I've been coming here for years and always had outstanding service from a professional, caring staff no matter what department I visit with my family.
Regarding the previous post referencing the person with the "service animal," I appreciate Sharp removing unauthorized animals from a medical facility. Too many people call their untrained, non-certified "comfort animals" their service animals. More businesses are starting to crack down on the abuse of this designation, protecting their other customers from the needy, inconsiderate few.
I'm sure Sharp would not eject a real service animal.True service animals have extensive training and are certified as such.
Your comfort doggy isn't automatically protected by the powers-that-be so they can be carried around medical facilities and restaurants that are smart enough to put health concerns in front of political correctness.
Good job Sharp!

Well to start, the building is outdated and feels very stale and uncomfortable. I did a walk in appointment and the wait was just over 2 hours. That part I'm not even that upset about because I understand it's a walk in. BUT, the receptionist was rude and obviously tired, I asked her for an approximate wait time and she rolled her eyes and said about half an hour, HA, multiply that by 4. Aside from her being awful, I patiently waited until it was my turn for the doctor to see me. The nurse and the doctor were very nice. But when they ran tests on me it didn't show anything was wrong with me when there CLEARLY was a health problem with me. So they said they would send the sample to the lab for further diagnostics and get back to me in a day or two via phone call. I waited A WEEK and got no response, and I'm still ill. So I called back, I didn't really know who to contact but someone just said the lab shows there's nothing wrong with my sample. I called back again the next day to try to contact the same doctor and he gave me the same response, the lab shows nothing and he gave me no other options, so I just remained sick for several weeks and forced my body to heal on its own. If you can, definitely drive the extra few miles to a different sharp rees. This location is a sad excuse for a hospital, I was honestly super surprised.
