Today went for the first time with my son. Front staff ladies were cordial very warming. Even the lady who did my son's beginning exam. It wasn't until I got to the doctor and he finished his exam that I felt confused. He was talking to my son for exam. Once it was finished he just said far sighted and astigmatism and left. I had some back and forth with the ladies and the wife of doctor like wasn't I supposed to get a chance to ask questions talk about his eyes something? Doctor just made me feel very unconcerned. If it wasn't for the ladies I would have given this many stars. I'm unsure if I'm coming back.

This review is for the San Carlos Optometry department, and in particular Siavath Assar, Optometrist. I am alarmed at how wrong his diagnosis was.
TLDR: I found Siavath Assar to be an utterly incompetent optometrist. His diagnosis was completely wrong by a huge magnitude. He had me try on a single soft contact lens, and when I couldn't see clearly with it, he simply concluded that I am not able to wear soft contacts to correct my vision, and my only option was hard contact lenses or glasses. After going to an actual, competent optometrist at Stanford, I was fitted with a much different soft contact lens prescription and am seeing 20/20.
Details: Assar is not knowledgable about contact lens fitting, and did not take any time to properly evaluate my case.
I've had LASIK/PRK, but still need glasses or contacts to correct the residual refractive error. Assar gave me 1 contact lens to try on in his office, a +1.75, and when I said I could not see clearly at all with this prescription, he promptly concluded that I would not be able to see clearly with soft contact lenses, period. That I should just get used to wearing glasses anyway as people would need them as their eyes age. At no time did Dr. Assar try a different prescription on me before his erroneous conclusion. To boot, he had the audacity to charge me for a "contact lens fitting," when he did none of the work! His false diagnosis was devastating as I find wearing glasses all day everyday quite uncomfortable and annoying.
I went to a different optometrist at Stanford, who, on his first try, gave me my proper soft contact lens prescription of +0.50. With this right prescription, my vision is extremely clear and crisp at 20/20, and I could comfortably wear the soft contact lens all day.
I'm so glad I did not trust Assar. His diagnosis / prescription was so completely wrong. As you recall, he had me try a +1.75, when I only needed a +0.50 to see 20/20. The degree to which he was wrong is alarming.

I had to go to the Warby Parker Store at Derby shop 4 times. Once it was too crowded and nobody could help me and twice there was no optician on duty either at lunch or out. My fourth trip was successful but they could not fulfill my prescription because of a prescription error. I have a call into my opthalmologist to see what is wrong with the prescription

My patient experience was awesome at Saratoga Ophthalmology. My exam was the most comprehensive that I’ve ever had. I appreciated hearing that my diagnosis could be treated with a significant prescription change vs surgery as the only immediate option. The providers here are the Rock Stars of the vision world.

I had a wonderful experience at Lynn Eye Medical Group and highly recommend them. The entire staff is highly professional, welcoming and friendly.
Dr Pye was incredibly thorough, explaining all the tests and answering all my concerns. Dr Pye is extremely thorough and knowledgeable. She explained me in detail about my condition and setup a plan to treat my symptoms.
I felt confident and look forward for a continued treatment and recovery.

My insurance is with Cigna and Dr. Kastner is in my network. My eye exam copay is $20. When I arrived at my appointment and approached the front desk, the young lady behind the counter asked me my name and if I had been there before. I said no, so she started to give me some paperwork to complete. Dr. Kastner appeared in front of me and told her employee that she would sign me in. The young lady looked a little bit surprised and said okay. Dr. Kastner never even introduced herself to me, she did not let me sit down. She asked me my name and social security number to look up my coverage and said my exam would be $59. I told her my co-pay is $20. She replied "well some providers charge more". I said that is not allowed that's not legal it's a set co-payment. She again repeated what she told me before and added that I was welcome to leave if I wasn't comfortable with the price. This whole incident took place a foot away from the front door. Her immediate dislike of me was perplexing and the very definition of unprofessionalism. I'm not sure if Dr. Kastner had a problem with my race or gender or just didn't like the way I looked, but it felt like a bias attack on me personally. I contacted Cigna to confirm what I was told by Dr. Kastner. Cigna informed me that my exam should not have been more than $20. I left a voicemail for Dr. Kastner asking for a call back to discuss what had happened. Since she never responded I am now filing a complaint with Cigna and plan to file complaints with other state and federal agencies that regulate her industry.

I couldn't be happier with the results of my eye surgery.
It has almost been 2 years, and after about 1 week after each surgery, I have not had ANY pain or discomfort.
And at my recent 6 month appointment I was still 20/20 in each eye.
Dr. George Clavenna and his team have been a blessing to work with.
They gave me a feeling of calm, knowledge, skill, and never questioned I made the right decision. I would reccomend them without reservation.
