Sunset vision center offered a great modern selection of eyewear. They have a caring team to help you choose what works best for you! I especially appreciate Josh for his knowledge and support in helping me get my frames and lenses fitted and sized for me.
Everyone in this store is attentive to customers needs. Highly Recommended!!!

Adam Shupe is a great doctor. He was great with my young son, my father and myself. Went there for a couple of years with no issue. On my last appointment however, my insurance had changed. When I called to make the appointment, I was told they couldn't even schedule the appointment before verifying insurance. So I provided the new information, she verified it was in network and scheduled the appointment. I showed up, provided a copy of my insurance, and still was not notified of any issue. A few weeks after the appointment, I received a bill for almost $300! When I called and asked why, I was then told they didn't take my insurance and that is why I received the bill. Absolutely incompetent and ridiculous. After several months of arguing they finally offered me a 20% discount to compensate me for my troubles. Will never go back there again.

This review is entirely on front desk. As I walked in, older receptionist of Hispanic decent was very rude at check in, she looked at me than phone rang and she completely ignored me. Than I asked the other younger receptionist to check me in, so she did. I waited for half an hour, when I came up to see what’s the wait, the response I got, he’s backed up with patients and what am I? Why do we schedule, so we can wait on others? The other remark I got, you are welcome to reschedule, really? I drove here for an hour with baby, waited half an hour and now I should leave? Ridiculous!

Post SMILE with Dr. Hyver in June 2024: Left eye good; right eye blurry.
Pre SMILE: -6.5 contacts/glasses with astigmatism on both eyes
Overall, I am glad I can see things clearly now with both eyes. I wish my right eye were as good as my left eye, and the difference is hard to ignore.
I am giving this business a 3-star rating not only because of the imperfect surgical outcome but also because I was unsatisfied with their communication. Examples:
1. During my consultation, I was only told that there would be a pre-op (dilation exam) before my surgery. During my pre-op, my doctor told me there was a "hole" in my right retina, and I needed to get it checked out by a retinol specialist before my surgery. I recognize that this step is necessary to ensure a safe surgery. Still, I wish I had been informed earlier that this might happen so I wouldn't have been so stressed about calling retinol specialists around the town and trying to squeeze an appointment within the very tight time frame between pre-op and op.
2. Two days before my op, the business called me and said I had to come in again for another check-up before my surgery. I WAS NOT GIVEN AN EXPLANATION on why this was needed. Again, I wish I had been informed earlier that this might happen so I wouldn't have been so concerned that something might be wrong with my eye numbers.
3. At my one-day post-op appointment, the doctor checked my eyes for 5 mins and said, “That would be everything for today 😊”. She would not have told me anything if I hadn’t asked her how my eyes looked. Upon my inquiries, she told me my eyes looked “good”, but no more details.
I will have my 3-month post-op appointment in a couple of weeks. We will see how things go.
I haven’t noticed any side effects other than my right eye is still blurry. Cost: $5600 ish for both eyes post VSP Premium insurance and employer benefit.

Great exam overall, the main gal who helped me was informative and wonderful which is why I want to leave more stars but the doctor who “saw” me wasn’t that great. She chalked my eye issues up to allergies even though I told her I’ve previously had an eye infection that needed drops, I can’t barely keep my eye open without burning sensations and pain and she looked at pictures via zoom and said “try these OTC drops.” Not wonderful so will probably be returning to my usual eye doctor.

They are really knowledgeable staff who will help with anything or questions you may have for the service you received. The eye doctor knows exactly what they do. They are very complete. I mean they go through everything to make sure your eyes are healthy.

This place stinks. 1030 appointment it’s now noon and still haven’t been seen yet! Why make a 1030 appointment when you can’t be seen for 1.5 hours after!??? These hospital and doctors should be ashamed of themselves with these wait times! Unreal!!!! I usually don’t bother with boston base hospitals! The wait times are ridiculous and traffic terrible!

The facility was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly. Dr Miller was very nice but could engage a little more. I’m sure he has numerous patients to see but it would have been informative to obtain information on way I could improve my vision such as diet, exercise, massages, acupuncture, etc. overall the visit was great and I look forward to my next visit. Kennedy was amazing, extremely friendly and information.

For
Sol Specs
Just bought a new set of designer frames from Sol Specs, they have the most wonderful selection of brands, all for incredibly competitive prices. The customer service was incredible, I need specific lenses and it was no problem to order them. My glasses were ready faster than any other store, and fitted to my face upon pick-up. I won't shop anywhere else for lenses, highly reccomend this shop for all reading and sunglasses.

Quick and easy, chose frames and was able to choose custom pads and lenses with different resistance options, transition lense colors, etc. Les was super knowledgeable and helpful answering all questions. Glasses prices are reasonable but contact lens prices were very competitive. I was able to order 48 pair of lenses for $190, whereas 1-800-Contacts sells a 24-pack for $189.
