Be sure not to be late. They have a 10 minute cut off policy and will not take you if you're 10 minutes or more late to your appointment. Besides that, my grand daughter and I love Dr Gladin and his assistant! They are great with kids!!

For Canyon Lake Optometry

I have been blessed to have had eye insurance growing up. I have been to the eye doctor every year for the past 30 years. Now having to take my eyes to a new doctor after having the same one for the past 15 years was defiantly scary for me. My first visit with Dr. Holmstrom was great. I had specific questions for him because I wear both contacts and glasses. He answered all my questions and was very easy to talk to. He also suggested a cheaper contact I could purchase from the same brand of contacts I wear! His staff is also very helpful and were nice to talk to. I will be returning next year! I told the secretary that I didn't want a certain procedure done to check my eyes because it would be an additionally cost but the doctor dialated my eyes and he did it anyway. I told the doctor I rarely wear my contacts and he gave me prescriptions for contacts which I never asked for and it cost an additional $35. When it was time to pay the copay I was stunned to hear the total. And I ask the secretary what should I do next time to not get charged for the things I never asked for. She told me to definitely make it known, but they should make it known what they are doing is not a standard eye exam. Dr. Shaw is a nice guy but I felt tricked.
